Guthrie AI is Looking for: About Guthrie Commercial glazing contractors build the glass facades of the world's most iconic buildings. These are high-stakes, complex bids, and the estimators who win them are some of the sharpest people in construction, buried under RFPs, addenda, and vendor quotes, with no time to spare. We fix that, but not by replacing human judgment. We make it superhuman. Guthrie AI pairs every client with a Virtual Bid Assistant: a skilled human estimator, powered by our proprietary platform, who pulls scope from RFPs, manages RFIs, and generates proposals at a speed no solo estimator could match.

We are ~$2M ARR and plan to 10x in the next 12 months. Seed-stage, AI-native, backed by top VCs, and moving fast.

The opportunity You will own the interface where our clients work with their Virtual Bid Assistants. We build with a server-rendered HTMX and Flask approach. It is fast, lean, and tightly coupled to real product logic, not a heavy single-page app. You will craft the interactions that make agents feel trustworthy and effortless to direct, and you will ship them quickly. This role is ideal for an engineer who loves

building product-facing experiences and cares about how things feel, not just how they render. We are a small team shipping every day, and your work goes straight to customers.

What You'll Own

• The end-to-end experience our Virtual Bid Assistants use to do their best work, from onboarding through daily workflow
• Interaction patterns that surface what AI is doing and keep skilled estimators in control
• Responsive, performant interfaces built on HTMX, Flask templates, and modern CSS/JS
• Close partnership with our designer and backend engineers to turn complex estimating workflows into something that feels simple
• Performance, accessibility, and polish -- because details close deals

What You Bring

• 5+ years building production, product-facing web applications
• Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals. You understand the browser, not just a framework
• A Strong 0-to-1 track record. You thrive in ambiguity and own features end to end
• A shipping bias. Real product in front of real users, fast
• AI-Native Builder. Deep and demonstrated experience using AI to build, ship, and accelerate work. You can take an ambiguous problem and ship a working solution.

Even Better If

• HTMX or server-rendered / hypermedia experience (or genuine eagerness to work this way)
• Python and Flask comfort for full-stack feature work
• Experience designing AI-first or agentic AI products
• AEC, glazing, or construction industry exposure
• Veteran or prior service background. Our founder is a Marine Corps Ground Intelligence Officer, and we understand that lane.
