Senior Frontend Engineer

We're hiring a Frontend Engineer to own the web architecture and user experience of our platform end-to-end. This is a frontend-heavy role; your primary craft is React and building fast, scalable, delightful interfaces, with enough backend fluency (Python/Django/PostgreSQL) to collaborate closely with the backend team on API design and data flow. You'll work directly with customers to understand pain points and shape what we build next.

Responsibilities:

• Own frontend architecture end-to-end: translate designs and ambiguous requirements into scalable, performant React interfaces.
• Ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs; optimise for speed and scale as our customer base grows.
• Collaborate with backend engineers on API contracts and data flow (Python/Django/PostgreSQL, GCP, DBT). You don't need to own backend features, but you should be fluent enough to reason about them.
• Sit close to customers, join calls, understand pain points, and translate them into product and UI priorities.
• Bring critical thinking to existing solutions; we want engineers who challenge assumptions and propose better approaches, not just execute tickets.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of professional, full-time experience building production frontend systems.
• Deep React.js expertise in component architecture, state management, and performance optimisation at scale. This is the core bar for the role.
• Demonstrated ownership of system/architecture decisions: you've independently designed solutions from ambiguous requirements, not just executed specs.
• Working fluency in a backend stack (Python, Django, PostgreSQL or equivalent) and cloud/data tooling (GCP, DBT enough to collaborate, not required to build backend features solo.
• Direct experience working close to customers or a product you can point to a specific instance where customer input shaped what you built.
• A proactive, self-starter mindset comfortable with ambiguity and early-stage pace.

• Prior experience at an early-stage (0-1) startup.
• Natural curiosity and a track record of leading or initiating projects independently.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a bias toward customer delight.
