Senior Firmware Engineer

Role Summary

• Design safety-critical software for complex medical devices.
• Build systems using RTOS and Embedded Linux (Yocto).
• Target multi-core processors like NXP i.MX93 and Renesas MCUs.
• Focus on low-level drivers, peripherals, and multi-core frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Write reliable, compliant C code for life-critical devices.
• Write and debug Linux kernel and peripheral drivers.
• Design Inter-Processor Communication (IPC) for heterogeneous cores.
• Integrate hardware peripherals using UART, SPI, and I2C.
• Develop software using RTOS and Yocto Embedded Linux.
• Document code and testing to comply with IEC 62304.
• Maintain clear version history and workflows using Git.

Required Technical Skills

• Mastery of C programming for embedded systems.
• Direct experience with NXP i.MX93 and Renesas MCUs.
• Dual expertise in RTOS and Embedded Linux platforms.
• Deep understanding of Linux drivers and kernel deployment.
• Hands-on experience with UART, SPI, and I2C interfaces.
• Proven experience with multi-core IPC frameworks.
• Proficiency with the Yocto Project build system.
• Expert proficiency with Git and hardware debuggers (JTAG).

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics & Communication or equivalent.
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in relevant field.
• Strong understanding of medical software life-cycles (IEC 62304).
• Experience with medical risk analysis standards (ISO 14971).
• Knowledge of secure boot for FDA cybersecurity compliance.
