Senior Shop Expeditor PEB / Structural Steel Manufacturing

Location: Haridwar, Uttarakhand

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Shop Expeditor with strong hands-on experience in PEB (Pre-Engineered Buildings), structural steel manufacturing, fabrication, and shop-floor expediting.

The candidate will be responsible for monitoring manufacturing progress, tracking production schedules, coordinating with different departments, identifying delays, and ensuring timely completion of fabrication, inspection, painting, documentation, packing, and dispatch activities.

Freelancers and independent consultants with relevant experience are also welcome to apply.

1. Educational Qualification

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, Structural Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

2. Experience Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in PEB / Structural Steel Manufacturing, Fabrication, and Expediting.
• Strong practical knowledge of PEB manufacturing processes and shop-floor activities.
• Hands-on experience in structural steel fabrication and manufacturing operations.
• Experience in PEB manufacturing companies or structural steel fabrication shops is highly preferred.
• Strong experience in shop expediting, production progress monitoring, schedule tracking, and coordination.
• Candidates must be available for immediate joining and commit to the complete project duration of approximately 2 to 2.5 months.

3. Key Technical Requirements

The candidate must understand the complete PEB manufacturing cycle:

Raw Material Receipt Material Identification & Traceability Cutting Fit-up Welding Assembly Dimensional Inspection NDT Blasting / Surface Preparation Painting / Coating Final Inspection Documentation Packing & Dispatch

The candidate should have sound knowledge of:

• PEB primary and secondary structural members.
• Structural steel fabrication, assembly, and shop drawings.
• Material Test Certificates (MTC) and material traceability.
• Welding processes, WPS/PQR, and welder qualification requirements.
• NDT coordination and inspection activities.
• Dimensional inspection and fabrication tolerances.
• Surface preparation, blasting, painting, and DFT inspection.
• Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), hold points, and witness points.
• NCR (Non-Conformance Report) and punch-point follow-up and closure.
• Material identification, packing, and dispatch readiness.
• Manufacturing schedules, production tracking, and expediting reports.

4. Key Responsibilities Shop Expediting

• Monitor and expedite daily shop-floor manufacturing and fabrication activities.
• Track planned versus actual production progress against the manufacturing schedule.
• Follow up with Production, Planning, QA/QC, Inspection, Painting, and Dispatch teams.
• Expedite the complete manufacturing cycle, from raw material receipt to final packing and dispatch.
• Monitor material availability, cutting, fit-up, welding, assembly, inspection, NDT, blasting, and painting.
• Identify production bottlenecks, pending activities, and schedule delays.
• Coordinate recovery actions with the concerned departments to minimize delays.
• Monitor manufacturing milestones and highlight critical issues affecting project delivery.
• Prepare daily and weekly expediting reports, production progress reports, and pending activity trackers.
• Maintain photographic records of shop-floor progress and share regular updates with the client / project team.
• Follow up on pending inspections, NDT reports, NCRs, punch points, and quality documentation.
• Coordinate with shop personnel and relevant teams to ensure timely completion of manufacturing activities.
• Follow up on final inspection, document compilation, packing readiness, and dispatch schedules.
• Ensure timely closure of pending activities as per the project schedule.

5. Important Candidate Requirements

• Hands-on experience in PEB / Structural Steel Manufacturing and Shop-Floor Fabrication is mandatory.
• Practical experience in shop expediting, production schedule monitoring, delay management, and manufacturing coordination is essential.
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal, are mandatory. The candidate should be able to prepare professional emails, progress reports, and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
• Candidates with only general Mechanical Inspection or generic Expediting experience without relevant PEB / Structural Steel Manufacturing exposure will not be considered.
• Freelancers and independent consultants are also welcome to apply, provided they meet the technical requirements.
