Senior Fashion Designer

Role & responsibilities

• Research current and emerging fashion trends, color forecasts, fabrics, trims, and market insights.
• Design and develop seasonal collections for women's ethnic wear.
• Prepare digital illustration, CADs, technical drawings, and detailed tech packs.
• Coordinate with merchandising, sampling, sourcing, and production teams to ensure timely product development.
• Select appropriate fabrics, prints, embellishments, embroidery techniques, and trims for each collection.
• Review and approve proto samples, fit samples, and production samples to ensure design accuracy and quality standards.
• Conduct fit sessions and implement necessary design modifications.
• Collaborate with vendors, artisans, printers, and embroidery units for fabric sourcing and product development.
• Ensure all collections align with the Rustorange brand identity, customer preferences, seasonal trends, and commercial objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and guide junior designers and the sampling team.
• Manage collection timelines and ensure timely completion of all design milestones.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Fashion Design from NIFT.
• Minimum 03 to 06 years of hands-on experience in designing Women's Ethnic Wear.
• Strong knowledge of Indian textiles, fabrics, garment construction, embroidery techniques, print development, and surface ornamentation.
• Excellent hand sketching, illustration, and concept development skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW, and MS Office.
• Strong understanding of fashion forecasting, color trends, and consumer preferences.
• Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and team management skills.

Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
