Senior Executive

Role & responsibilities

• General Ledger Management: Prepare, review, and post standard, adjusting, and reversing journal entries to ensure accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts.
  
• Month-End & Year-End Close: Execute the timely closing of the financial books each period, managing strict deadlines for expense accruals, revenue recognition, and final reporting.
  
• Account Reconciliations: Perform comprehensive monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and complex balance sheet accounts to promptly identify and resolve discrepancies.
  
• Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and review of core financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows) for internal management and stakeholders.
  
• Variance Analysis: Analyze monthly financial data to identify trends, investigate budget-to-actual discrepancies, and provide clear explanations for significant variances.
  
• Fixed Asset Management: Maintain the company's fixed asset register, tracking capital expenditures, recording disposals, and calculating monthly depreciation and amortization schedules.
  
• Audit & Compliance Support: Prepare requested schedules, roll-forwards, and documentation for internal and external auditors while ensuring all accounting practices strictly comply with GAAP (or IFRS) standards.
  
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll departments to ensure the accurate, timely recording of prepaids, accruals, and intercompany transactions.

Preferred candidate profile

• Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (Active pursuit of, or holding, a CPA or CMA designation is highly preferred.)
  
• Relevant Experience: 2 to 5 years of progressive experience in general corporate accounting, general ledger management, or public accounting.
  
• Core Knowledge: Deep understanding of standard accounting principles (e.g., US GAAP or IFRS), double-entry bookkeeping, and the full-cycle month-end close process.
  
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, XLOOKUPs/VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and hands-on experience with major ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
  
• Analytical Aptitude: Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail, capable of independently investigating discrepancies and executing complex balance sheet reconciliations.
  
• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams (AP, AR, Payroll) and clearly explain financial variances to non-finance managers.
  
• Time Management: Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize overlapping tasks, and consistently meet strict month-end and year-end reporting deadlines.
  
• Process Improvement: A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a track record of identifying workflow bottlenecks and assisting in the automation or streamlining of accounting procedures.
