Senior Executive - US Business Tax

Job Summary

The Tax Officer - Business Tax will be responsible for preparing and filing federal and multi-state business tax returns, performing tax research, and managing client accounts while ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws.

Responsibilities

• Tax Preparation Compliance: Prepare business tax returns (Forms 1120, 1120S, 1065) for corporations, S-corps, and partnerships.
• Handle multi-state tax returns, ensuring accurate allocation and apportionment.
• Perform M-1 adjustments and reconcile book-to-tax differences.
• Input Partnership K-1 data and calculate basis adjustments.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns to federal and state authorities.
• Tax Research Technical Analysis: Conduct tax technical research on complex issues, including state-specific regulations and federal compliance.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations impacting business entities.
• Client Communication Account Management: Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial data and resolve queries.
• Respond to notices and correspondence from tax authorities on behalf of clients.
• Manage multiple client accounts, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Documentation Reporting: Maintain accurate work papers and documentation supporting tax filings.
• Prepare summaries and reports for internal review and client presentation.
• Technology Tools: Proficient in MS Excel for data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Familiarity with tax preparation software (e.g., CCH Axcess, Drake, Pro series, Ultra tax, Pro-connect, GoSystem RS, CCH Engagement, Caseware).
