Senior Executive - QA/QC (Weld Shop)

Role & responsibilities

• Ensure in-process quality control activities in the Weld Shop as per quality standards.
• Monitor weld quality parameters and adherence to process specifications.
• Conduct routine inspection of BIW/Weld Shop parts and assemblies.
• Analyze quality issues and drive root cause analysis using 7 QC Tools, Why-Why Analysis, and 8D methodology.
• Monitor rejection, rework, and customer complaints; implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Perform Layered Process Audits (LPA) and process compliance audits.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and quality systems.
• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams for quality improvements.
• Review SPC, MSA, Control Plans, PFMEA, and Work Instructions.
• Support new model development and process validation activities.
• Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and audit documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve first-pass yield.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
• 3-6 years of experience in Automotive Manufacturing Quality.
• Hands-on experience in Weld Shop/BIW In-Process Quality.
• Knowledge of welding processes, weld defect analysis, and quality inspection techniques.
• Good understanding of GD&T, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
• Experience in Root Cause Analysis (8D, Why-Why Analysis, 7 QC Tools).
• Familiarity with IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and process audits.
• Ability to handle quality issues on the shop floor and coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience in OEM/Tier-1 automotive companies will be preferred.
