Senior Executive - Health & Safety

About the Role:

The role is responsible for ensuring Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) and fire safety compliance across Flipkart facilities through structured site assessments, design reviews, audits, non-compliance closure, and go-live readiness. The incumbent will ensure alignment with applicable statutory requirements, national codes and internal safety standards while supporting safe, compliant and timely facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct site assessments to identify environmental, health, fire, electrical and occupational safety risks, ensuring compliance with applicable statutory and internal safety requirements.
• Review facility designs and layouts to ensure alignment with building codes, fire and life safety norms, electrical safety standards, and construction safety requirements, including provisions for safe access, evacuation, fire protection systems, and material handling.
• Conduct facility safety audits to verify compliance with regulatory and safety standards across infrastructure, electrical installations, vehicle movement areas, and construction activities.
• Identify non-compliances, support risk-based prioritization and track corrective and preventive actions to closure before operational handover.
• Maintain accurate compliance documentation, audit records, and reports using designated compliance management systems.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, contractors, and external agencies to communicate safety expectations and support safe, compliant execution of projects and operations.
• The role requires working knowledge of relevant safety codes and statutory requirements, including but not limited to: National Building Code (NBC) of India, State Fire Safety Rules / Fire NOC requirements, Indian Standards (IS) related to fire, electrical, and occupational safety. The candidate must demonstrate working knowledge and experience in electrical safety regulations and safe electrical installation practices, as well as project safety requirements, including work at height, traffic safety management, temporary structures, and contractor safety management.

Preferred candidate profile

• BE/BTech with 3+ years of experience in Health & Safety team/EHS team.
