Senior Executive (Finance & Accounts)

About the Role

eTaxMentor is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting and finance team.
The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of end-to-end accounting operations, financial statement preparation, GST, e-TDS, Income Tax Return (ITR) filing, reconciliations, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end accounting operations, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR).
  
• Handle GST calculations, reconciliations, return filings, and related compliance activities.
  
• Prepare and file e-TDS returns and ensure timely TDS compliance.
  
• Assist with Income Tax Return (ITR) preparation and filing for individuals and business entities.
  
• Prepare financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss Statements, and related financial schedules.
  
• Perform bank, vendor, and customer account reconciliations.
  
• Prepare journal entries, maintain ledgers, and ensure accurate accounting records.
  
• Manage invoice verification, payment processing, and outstanding balances.
  
• Handle monthly and year-end financial closing activities.
  
• Prepare MIS reports and financial reports for management review.
  
• Assist with statutory audits, tax audits, and compliance documentation.
  
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  
• Coordinate with clients, auditors, and internal teams to ensure timely completion of accounting and compliance activities.
  

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of Indian accounting principles, taxation, and financial reporting.
  
• Hands-on experience in end-to-end accounting and bookkeeping.
  
• Practical knowledge of GST, e-TDS, and Income Tax Return (ITR) filing.
  
• Experience in preparing financial statements, including Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss Statements.
  
• Proficiency in Tally Prime / Tally ERP 9 and familiarity with other accounting software.
  
• Good knowledge of MS Excel, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and accounting reports.
  
• Experience in General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  
• Knowledge of statutory compliance, financial closing, and audit support.
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and meet reporting and compliance timelines.
  

Experience & Professional Requirements

• 3-5 years of relevant hands-on experience in accounting, taxation, and financial reporting.
  
• Strong practical knowledge of Indian accounting practices, GST, e-TDS, ITR filing, and statutory compliance.
  
• Experience in independently managing end-to-end accounting activities.
  
• Prior experience in CA firms, accounting and taxation firms, or professional services organizations is preferred.
  

Educational Qualifications & Certifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce (B.Com / M.Com), MBA (Finance), or an equivalent qualification.
  
• Relevant certifications in Accounting, GST, TDS, Income Tax, Tally, or Financial Accounting will be an added advantage.
