Senior Engineer

Sr Engineer/Engineer with hands-on experience in biomass-based power plants or similar to lead

installation, commissioning, and operations & maintenance activities. The candidate will oversee boilers, turbines, biomass/material handling systems, and balance-of-plant utilities while managing teams and subcontractors to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise plant installation, commissioning, and start-up trials.
• Lead day-to-day O&M of Power plant of Gasifiers similar to boilers, turbines, CHP/AHP, and auxiliary systems.
• Manage teams of engineers, technicians, and subcontractors for smooth execution.
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot operational issues, and optimize plant performance.
• Prepare and maintain commissioning and O&M reports, downtime analysis, and system manuals.
• Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and environmental regulations.

Operations & Maintenance

• Oversee day-to-day

operation of biomass boilers, turbines, CHP/AHP systems, and balance-of-plant utilities .

• Manage

biomass handling, ash handling, and fuel feeding systems .

• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
• Supervise and motivate operations team along with managing client or sub-contractors’ team for O&M contracts, spare management
• Prepare and submit

daily, weekly, and monthly O&M reports and downtime analyses.

• Ensure compliance with

safety, statutory, and environmental norms

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for reliability, efficiency, and cost optimization.

Installation & Commissioning

• Coordinate with project, client, and subcontractor teams to ensure smooth installation and commissioning.
• Review and interpret

plant layouts, P&IDs, piping drawings, and schematic diagrams .

• Supervise erection and commissioning of

boilers, turbines, heat exchangers, blowers, conveyors, cooling towers, biomass handling systems, and auxiliary utilities .

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, QA/QC standards, and safety guidelines.
• Prepare and maintain commissioning records, checklists, and system manuals.
• Guide testing, trial runs, and resolve start-up issues until handover.

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Power, or Production Engineering.
• 4-8 years of experience in biomass/thermal power plants with

installation, commissioning, and O&M exposure.

• Knowledge of plant O&M similar to boilers, turbines, blowers, conveyors, material handling, heat exchangers, cooling towers, and auxiliary utilities.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (AutoCAD knowledge preferred).
