Senior Engineer

1. Conceptual Design & Pre-Order Engineering

• Develop conceptual mechanical designs and preliminary layouts for cranes and other material handling equipment.
• Understand customer requirements, technical specifications, and tender documents.
• Evaluate design feasibility and propose suitable engineering solutions.
• Prepare preliminary general arrangement (GA) drawings and equipment layouts.

2. CAD Modelling & Engineering Calculations

• Prepare 2D layouts and 3D models using Solid Edge, AutoCAD, or equivalent CAD tools.
• Perform preliminary engineering calculations, load assessments, and component sizing.
• Identify suitable mechanical configurations based on application requirements.
• Review design concepts for technical feasibility, manufacturability, and safety.

3. Technical Proposals & Estimation Support

• Support the Sales and Estimation teams with technical inputs for customer quotations and tenders.
• Prepare technical specifications, preliminary BOMs, and equipment configurations.
• Evaluate customer specifications and identify technical deviations, exclusions, and clarifications.
• Provide design inputs for cost estimation and value engineering.

4. Standards & Quality Compliance

• Ensure preliminary designs comply with applicable engineering standards, customer requirements, and safety norms.
• Identify technical risks and highlight design constraints during the proposal stage.
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation and design records.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with Sales, Estimation, Procurement, and Project Engineering teams to finalize technical proposals.
• Participate in technical discussions with customers and internal stakeholders, as required.
• Incorporate customer feedback and support technical clarifications during the bidding process.

6. Design Optimization & Standardization

• Identify opportunities for design standardization, cost optimization, and improved engineering efficiency.
• Utilize standard design practices and existing engineering solutions wherever applicable.
• Contribute to the development of preliminary design templates, checklists, and technical databases.
