Senior Engineer - Maintenance

Name of Position: Senior Engineer

1.Job Objective :-
To lead and execute mechanical maintenance activities for CNC and VMC machining centers, ensuring optimum machine health, increased equipment uptime, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Drive preventive maintenance programs, root cause analysis, equipment improvements, and spare parts management to enhance overall manufacturing productivity and operational excellence.

2.Key Role & Responsibilities :-
Preventive and predictive maintenance of CNC and VMC machines.
Breakdown analysis and rapid troubleshooting.
MTTR reduction and MTBF improvement.
¢ Machine accuracy and performance optimization.
¢ Hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and mechanical system maintenance.
¢ Spare parts planning and inventory control.
¢ Support TPM, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
¢ Compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
¢ Coordination with production, tooling, and engineering teams to achieve operational targets

3.Qualification & Experience Required :-
Educational Qualification
¢ Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
¢ Additional certifications in CNC Maintenance, TPM, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, or Condition Monitoring will be preferred.
Experience
¢ 8 to 12 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance of CNC Turning Centers and VMC Machines in an
automotive or engineering manufacturing environment.
¢ Proven experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, overhauling, and accuracy restoration of CNC machine tools.
Technical Competencies
¢ In-depth knowledge of:
o Ball Screw assembly, alignment, backlash checking, and replacement.
o Spindle systems, spindle bearing replacement, runout checking, and troubleshooting.
o Turret assembly maintenance, indexing issues, coupling alignment, and hydraulic turret systems.
o Cam Box maintenance and troubleshooting.
o Linear Guideways, LM Blocks, lubrication systems, and machine geometrical accuracy.
o Hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in CNC machine tools.
o Auto lubrication systems and coolant systems.
o Machine leveling, alignment, and accuracy restoration.
¢ Hands-on maintenance experience on:
o BFW VMCs
o Brother VMCs
o Haas VMCs
o LMW CNC Turning Centers

4.Personal Characteristic :-
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify root causes of machine failures and
implement sustainable solutions.
Highly proactive and results-oriented, with a focus on minimizing machine downtime and improving equipment reliability.
Excellent analytical and diagnostic skills for complex CNC/VMC mechanical systems.
Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and commitment to achieving maintenance KPIs.
Ability to work effectively under pressure during critical machine breakdowns.
Good planning and organizational skills for maintenance scheduling and spare parts management.
