SENIOR ENGINEER - Java

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full stack applications using React, Java, and Spring Boot.
• Build and support RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Design, write, and maintain queries for PostgreSQL and other SQL-based data requirements.
• Work with business users, product teams, analysts, and developers to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Develop frontend features, reusable components, and user interfaces using React.
• Containerise and support applications using Docker.
• Use GitHub for source control, collaboration, code reviews, and development workflows.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the frontend, backend, database, and deployment layers.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Contribute to technical documentation, development standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, or similar persistence frameworks.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud or Linux-based environments.
• Experience building dashboards, reports, or data-driven business applications.
• Understanding of authentication, authorisation, and application security.
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelors / Masters degree or above in Computer Science or related discipline
• Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in developing and maintaining Java based applications/solutions.
• Strong analytical and quantitative / interpersonal / problem-solving skills
• able to work independently / attention to details / result-driven/ self-motivated / enthusiastic
• Excellent command of / fluent in both spoken and written English.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle, debugging, and testing concepts
• Exposure to scripting, automation, or monitoring tools is a plus
