Senior DPS SME / Architect (Data Protection Services)

Role Overview

• The Senior DPS SME / Architect is responsible for end-to-end ownership of enterprise data protection strategy, covering backup, recovery, disaster recovery, compliance, and platform evolution.
• This role goes beyond operations and focuses on architecture, governance, resilience, and long-term platform stability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and own enterprise backup and recovery architecture across on-prem and hybrid environments
• Define and govern RTO/RPO strategies aligned with business criticality
• Lead platform migrations, upgrades, and technology refresh programs
• Architect and optimize solutions using NetBackup, Commvault, Data Domain, Rubrik, Cohesity
• Own DR architecture, DR drills, and failover/failback strategies
• Define standards, policies, retention models, and compliance controls
• Support audits, regulatory reviews, and risk assessments
• Act as escalation point for major incidents and RCA
• Mentor L2/L3 engineers and provide technical leadership
• Engage with vendors and senior stakeholders.

Mandatory Skills

• Deep architecture-level experience in NetBackup and/or Commvault
• Strong expertise with Data Domain (DD Boost, replication, vaulting)
• Enterprise DR design (multi-site, active/passive, cyber recovery)
• Strong Linux & Windows understanding
• Audit, compliance, and governance exposure
