Senior DevOps & Linux Infrastructure Engineer

Role & responsibilities

1. Linux & Data Center Infrastructure (Critical Requirement)
Advanced Linux administration (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS, Debian).
Extensive experience managing production Linux servers in on-premises data centers.
Physical server provisioning, OS installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of systemd, SSH, PAM, cron, Linux permissions, kernel parameters, and system security.
Advanced storage administration: LVM, RAID, NFS, iSCSI, file systems, and disk performance optimization.
Virtualization technologies: Proxmox VE, KVM, VMware, and Hyper-V.
Understanding of clustered virtualization, live migration, high availability, and disaster recovery.
Knowledge of distributed storage technologies such as Ceph is highly desirable.
Experience with enterprise server hardware, Dell iDRAC, IPMI, firmware
management, and hardware troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of Linux performance analysis, resource optimization, and capacity planning.
2. Networking & Infrastructure Security
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VLANs, NAT, and firewalls.
Experience with load balancing using HAProxy, Nginx, and AWS Application Load Balancers.
SSL/TLS certificate management and HTTPS troubleshooting.
Experience with VPNs, site-to-site connectivity, and hybrid cloud networking.
Knowledge of Linux firewalls, iptables/nftables, SSH hardening, and access controls.
Understanding of network redundancy, bonding, LACP, and high-availability networking.
Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and application connectivity
issues.
3. AWS Cloud Infrastructure (Strong Experience Required)
Hands-on experience with AWS EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Route 53, CloudFront,
CloudWatch, and Elastic Load Balancing.
Experience with AWS ECS, EKS, Elastic Beanstalk, and container-based
deployments.
AWS networking, NAT Gateways, VPN, security groups, and private networking.
Experience managing production AWS infrastructure, backups, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
Infrastructure security, IAM least-privilege policies, and secrets management.
AWS cost optimization, resource sizing, and infrastructure scalability.
Experience with multi-account AWS environments and infrastructure migrations.

AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps/CloudOps, or DevOps Engineer)
are highly preferred.
4. Web Servers, Databases & Middleware
Advanced administration and troubleshooting of Apache2, Nginx, and HAProxy.
MySQL administration, replication, clustering, backup, restoration, and performance tuning.
Experience with Percona MySQL or Percona XtraDB Cluster is an advantage.
Redis, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, and OpenSearch.
Understanding of PostgreSQL administration is desirable.
Experience supporting Magento 2 and other PHP/Node.js-based applications.
PHP-FPM configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting.
Experience with reverse proxies, caching, application scaling, and high-availability architectures.
5. Containers, CI/CD & DevOps Automation
Strong hands-on experience with Docker, Docker Compose, and container
networking.
Experience deploying and managing containerized workloads on AWS ECS and Kubernetes/EKS.
Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy.
Git-based workflows using GitHub and Bitbucket.
Experience with GitHub Actions is highly desirable.
Strong Bash/Shell scripting skills; Python scripting is preferred.
Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CloudFormation.
Automated application deployments, rollback strategies, and release management.
Experience designing and maintaining secure, reliable CI/CD pipelines.
6. Monitoring, Logging & Reliability

Experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and New Relic.
Centralized logging using Graylog, ELK, or OpenSearch.
Proactive infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and performance optimization.
Production incident response, root cause analysis, and preventive actions.
Infrastructure capacity planning, availability management, and disaster recovery.
Experience implementing backup strategies and validating recovery procedures.
Understanding of infrastructure SLAs, uptime, and operational reliability

Key Responsibilities
Own and manage production Linux infrastructure across on-premises data centers
and AWS cloud environments.
Administer physical servers, virtualization clusters, storage, and networking infrastructure.
Design and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable infrastructure architectures.
Lead infrastructure troubleshooting, performance optimization, and production incident resolution.
Manage AWS services, networking, security, monitoring, and cost optimization.
Maintain web servers, database clusters, middleware, and application infrastructure.
Design, implement, and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
Manage Docker and container orchestration environments.
Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code solutions.
Implement infrastructure security best practices, patching, backups, and disaster recovery.
Plan infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and capacity expansion.
Collaborate with developers, QA, and engineering teams to improve application reliability and deployment efficiency.

Mentor junior DevOps engineers, review technical implementations, and maintain infrastructure documentation.

Participate in critical production incident handling and on-call support as required.

Preferred candidate profile

Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Linux system
administration, cloud engineering, or infrastructure operations.

Proven hands-on experience managing production Linux servers in data center
environments.

Strong practical experience with AWS infrastructure and services.

Experience with virtualization, networking, storage, and infrastructure
troubleshooting.

Strong understanding of CI/CD, Docker, Git, and automation.

Ability to independently investigate and resolve complex production issues.

Experience working with high-availability and business-critical systems.

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
