Role Description The Senior Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad, responsible for leading the design of handcrafted rugs and related home décor collections. Day-to-day tasks include developing design concepts, creating detailed design specifications, selecting materials and color palettes, and overseeing the design process from ideation to final product. The role involves collaborating with artisans, production teams, and stakeholders to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with brand aesthetics and market trends. The Senior Designer will review samples, refine patterns and textures, and maintain consistency across collections while meeting quality standards. This role also includes mentoring junior designers, contributing to brand storytelling, and participating in design reviews and cross-functional meetings.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in textile or product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing rug or home décor designs.
• Proficiency in design tools (such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or other relevant CAD/design software) for pattern development and visual presentation.
• Strong understanding of materials, color theory, composition, and surface design, particularly related to natural fibers and handcrafted products.
• Experience collaborating with artisans, manufacturers, or production teams, and the ability to translate design concepts into clear technical specifications.
• Excellent visual communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to present and explain design concepts to cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain design quality in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in leading or mentoring designers, with the capacity to provide constructive feedback and guide design direction.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Design, Textile Design, Interior Design, or a related field; advanced studies are an advantage.
• Interest in sustainable practices, artisan craft traditions, and contemporary interior design trends.
• Comfort working on-site in Hyderabad and engaging regularly with local production and craft partners.
