Senior Design Engineer

Company Description- Wick Automation LLP is an innovative automotive technology company focused on improving commercial vehicle safety and efficiency through intelligent tyre management systems. Our flagship technology specializes in Automatic Tyre Inflation & Deflation Systems for heavy commercial vehicles, helping fleets improve tyre life, fuel efficiency, and road safety.

Role Description- The work is practical and end-to-end. You will strip down and reverse engineer real components, model them in SolidWorks, design the pneumatic circuits around them, build and break prototypes, sit with vendors over tolerances, and stand on the shop floor when the first production batch runs. You will own the technical decision and the product-performance outcome that follows from it. This is a senior individual-contributor role with a clear path into leading the design function as the team grows. Anyone who joins should expect to be the person the rest of the company turns to on how a product actually works.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering or a related field.

• 3–4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical product design and development.

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in reverse engineering and new product development.

• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks — part modelling, assembly modelling, sheet metal, surfacing and manufacturing drawings.

• Practical working knowledge of pneumatic systems and pneumatic component selection.

• Experience in automotive, industrial equipment, machinery, pneumatic products or a related sector.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes — machining, fabrication, welding, sheet metal, injection moulding, casting and 3D printing.

• Good working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, material selection, BOM management and engineering documentation.

• Experience in prototype development, testing, validation, troubleshooting and production support.

• Experience working directly with suppliers, vendors, manufacturing teams and cross-functional departments.
