Senior Data Engineer

Looking for an experienced Data Engineer to own level 2 production support for enterprise data platforms. The role focuses on ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of data engineering and reporting environments while driving incident reduction, faster MTTR, automation, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Own L2 Service Operations for Data Engineering platforms (On-Prem and GCP).
• Drive Incident Management, Problem Management, RCA, and Change Management, and ensure ITIL best practices.
• Improve platform reliability through SRE principles, observability, proactive monitoring, AIOps, and automation.
• Support production data platforms, ensuring data quality, reporting accuracy, reconciliation, and timely issue resolution.
• Manage stakeholders across engineering, platform, security, and business teams to drive end-to-end issue resolution.
• Own service health dashboards, SLA tracking, knowledge management, and operational governance.
• Support security vulnerability remediation, resilience testing, and certificate management.

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of end-to-end data flows, data quality, and stakeholder management.
• Experience in security vulnerability management within cloud/data platforms.

Must-Have Skills:

• Data Engineering Production Support / Service Operations.
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP): especially BigQuery.
• SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) concepts.
• ITIL (Incident, Problem, and Change Management).
• ServiceNow, Dynatrace, or similar monitoring/observability tools.
• AIOps, Automation, Monitoring, and Observability.
• Data Warehousing, Reporting, and Data Pipelines.
