Responsibilities Technical Excellence - 3-4 years of hands-on experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), ITAM, software licensing, or license compliance.
- Good working knowledge of Tier-1 publisher licensing, particularly IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Red Hat, and VMware/Broadcom.
- Strong understanding of IBM licensing, including ILMT, CVA, PVU/VPC metrics, Full Capacity and Sub-Capacity licensing, virtualization, and associated compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience in license reconciliation, entitlement vs. deployment analysis, Effective License Position (ELP) preparation, compliance assessments, and license optimization.
- Experience working with SAM/ITAM tools such as Flexera, ServiceNow SAM Pro, Snow, or equivalent platforms.
- Good understanding of virtualization and cloud licensing concepts, including VMware, VMs, clusters, vMotion, and cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Ability to independently interpret license agreements, product use rights, contractual terms, licensing metrics, and publisher-specific licensing rules and assess their impact on compliance.
- Ability to stay abreast of publisher licensing changes and evaluate their impact on existing deployments, entitlements, and licensing positions.
- Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel, including handling and reconciling large software inventory, entitlement, and deployment datasets.
- Working knowledge of Generative AI and prompt engineering, with the ability to apply GenAI to licensing research, data analysis, compliance assessments, automation, and productivity use cases.
- Working knowledge of Python and coding concepts, with the ability to automate data cleansing, reconciliation, analysis, and repetitive SAM activities.
- Working knowledge of Power BI, Power Apps, and other visualization/automation tools for developing SAM dashboards, management reports, and workflow solutions.
- Ability to identify compliance risks, licensing gaps, optimization opportunities, and data-quality issues, and articulate findings and recommendations.
- Strong communication, documentation, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and client-facing skills, with the ability to independently manage assigned workstreams.
