Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer

What This Role Is All About

We are seeking a highly capable and forward-thinking Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in AWS cloud technologies, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), cloud-native application development, platform engineering, automation, cloud governance, and security. This role plays a critical part in designing, building, securing, and optimizing enterprise-scale cloud platforms while enabling development teams through automation, self-service infrastructure, and engineering best practices.

The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on experience across AWS services, CI/CD automation, cloud security, cloud governance, observability, and modern DevOps practices, with a proven track record of leading cloud transformation initiatives in complex enterprise environments.

Your Key Areas of Focus

Enterprise Cloud Engineering

• Serve as a senior technical lead within the Cloud Architecture & Engineering team, driving enterprise cloud adoption and modernization initiatives.
• Design, implement, and manage scalable, resilient, highly available, secure, and cost-optimized AWS cloud infrastructure solutions.
• Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks and enterprise cloud standards using AWS CloudFormation YAML.
• Build and maintain enterprise landing zones, cloud foundations, and reference architectures aligned with AWS best practices.
• Design and implement cloud-native solutions utilizing microservices, serverless architectures, containers (ECS/EKS), and managed AWS services.
• Implement enterprise monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions.
• Design CloudWatch dashboards, operational metrics, alarms, centralized logging, and distributed monitoring solutions.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade CloudFormation templates and reusable infrastructure modules.
• Standardize infrastructure deployment processes across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, compliance validation, and operational activities.
• Develop automation solutions using Python, Bash Shell scripting, and PowerShell.
• Drive infrastructure consistency and governance through automation-first engineering practices.

DevOps & CI/CD Engineering

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Azure DevOps and modern DevOps practices.
• Enable automated application, infrastructure, database, and container deployments in a standardised approach.
• Implement release automation, deployment orchestration, rollback strategies, and environment promotion processes.
• Establish DevOps engineering standards, branching strategies, deployment methodologies, and release governance frameworks.
• Support development teams by providing self-service deployment capabilities and reusable DevOps solutions.

Cloud Security & Compliance

• Design and implement enterprise cloud security architectures utilizing AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Inspector, AWS WAF, IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, and Secrets Manager.
• Enterprise AWS Guardrails, Security Controls & Compliance Management
• Configure and manage AWS Organizations, Organizational Units (OUs), Service Control Policies (SCPs), Permission Boundaries, and enterprise governance frameworks.
• Implement least-privilege access models and secure cross-account access strategies.
• Lead cloud security reviews, risk assessments, compliance audits, and remediation activities.

Qualifications for Success

Education & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 8 to 12 years of overall IT experience with significant hands-on experience in AWS Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Cloud-Native Development.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience designing and supporting enterprise AWS environments.
• Proven experience leading cloud transformation, infrastructure modernization, and automation initiatives.

Exceptional Cloud DevOps Engineers:

• Translate business and operational requirements into secure cloud solutions
• Design and document scalable and maintainable cloud architectures
• Communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders
• Lead troubleshooting, Mentoring engineers and drive engineering excellence
• Influence cloud strategy, governance, and modernization efforts

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of AWS AI, Generative AI & GitHub CoPilot AI-Assisted Development.

Certifications:

Any one of the following AWS certifications will be preferred.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
• AWS Certified Developer Associate
