Senior CAD Administrator SolidWorks & PDM

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior CAD Administrator SolidWorks & PDM with 5+ years of experience to manage, maintain, and enhance the CAD and Product Data Management (PDM) environment.

The role involves supporting engineering teams, administering CAD systems, optimizing workflows, managing licenses, and ensuring efficient data management across the organization. Key Responsibilities CAD & PDM Administration

• Administer and maintain SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM (Professional & Standard), DraftSight, and eDrawings environments.

• Ensure stable performance, reliability, and security of CAD and PDM systems.

• Manage vaults, workflows, data cards, permissions, and lifecycle states within PDM. System Optimization

• Improve existing CAD and PDM processes based on user feedback and business requirements.

• Monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, speed, and reliability. User Support & Training

• Provide technical support to engineering, design, and project teams for CAD/PDM issues.

• Develop training materials and documentation for CAD and PDM users. • Conduct training sessions and mentoring for junior designers. File & Data Management

• Maintain and manage file templates, design libraries, standard parts, and macros.

• Ensure proper data structure, revision control, and document management within PDM. Licensing & Upgrades

• Manage CAD and PDM licenses, including allocation and monitoring usage.

• Support system upgrades, version rollouts, and software patch updates. Implementation & Migration

• Participate in PDM implementation projects, system rollouts, and data migration activities.

• Collaborate with IT teams and global locations during system upgrades and deployments. CAD Infrastructure Support

• Assist in configuration and optimization of CAD workstations.

• Recommend hardware specifications for CAD performance. IT Service Management

• Handle incident, service, problem, and change management related to CAD systems through ITSM tools.

• Ensure timely resolution and documentation of issues.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a CAD Administrator or SolidWorks PDM Administrator.

• Hands-on experience managing SolidWorks PDM (Professional or Standard) environments.

Technical Skills

• Advanced expertise in SolidWorks design, drafting, and complex solid modeling.

• Experience with SolidWorks Routing (Piping, Electrical, or Tubing).

• Strong knowledge of PDM vault administration, workflows, permissions, and lifecycle management.

• Experience managing CAD templates, libraries, and configuration management.

• Knowledge of IT application management and CAD workstation hardware configuration.

• Experience with software upgrades, implementation, and data migration.

Education

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
