About this role
Job Description: Key Accounts Executive (LMS)
Team: Key Accounts Farming, LMS
Location: Mumbai | Type: Full-time, On-site
Experience: 13 years in inside sales, account management, B2B tele-sales, or customer
success.
Languages: English and Hindi, (a regional language is a strong plus)
Location - Mumbai
About the Role
Porter works with thousands of growing SMEs/Large Enterprises that use us for their logistics.
As a Key Account Farming Executive, you will call these high-potential clients and build real
relationships with the admins and decision-makers behind them. On these calls you will learn
how their business works, uncover logistics needs they haven't told us about, and grow the
account by bringing them into new cities, vehicle types, users, and use cases.
This is not a scripted calling job. We want someone who can hold a genuine business
conversation, think on their feet, and act like a trusted advisor to the customer rather than a
salesperson.
Key Responsibilities
Make outbound calls to assigned high-potential accounts and run consultative discovery
conversations about the customer's business, supply chain, and logistics pain points.
Identify and pursue growth opportunities: geographic expansion, new vehicle types,
additional users within the enterprise, new use cases, and higher order volume and
revenue.
Research each account before the call by reviewing its Porter data (order history, active
cities, vehicle usage) and its business context (website, products, industry).
Use open-ended questions to keep customers engaged and turn short calls into
meaningful conversations.
Explain Porter's offerings clearly and credibly, including basic billing, GST invoicing, and
TDS queries.
Follow up on every identified opportunity until it converts, and track progress in the CRM
or tracking sheet.
Record call outcomes and insights using the team's AI summarisation tools and
documentation formats.
Work with internal teams (ops, city teams, enterprise sales) to resolve customer issues
and hand off large opportunities.(Occasional)
What We're Looking For:
Must-haves
13 years of experience in B2B inside sales, account management, key account
farming, or customer success.
A consultative conversation style: able to listen, ask good follow-up questions, and
adjust the pitch to the customer's business instead of reading a script.
Business curiosity. You are comfortable asking about a customer's industry
(manufacturing, distribution, retail, FMCG, and so on) and pick up unfamiliar terms
quickly.
Confidence speaking with business owners, admins, and managers.
Working knowledge of GST invoicing and TDS basics, or a clear willingness to learn
them quickly.
A strong habit of following up. You don't let an opportunity go quiet.
Comfort with CRMs, Google Sheets or Excel, and AI tools.
Good numerical skills: comfortable with percentages, averages, growth rates, and basic
cost calculations. You can quickly work out figures like GST amounts, TDS deductions,
discounts, and revenue growth, often during a live conversation.
Able to read and interpret simple data from reports or spreadsheets, such as order
volumes, revenue trends, and usage patterns.
Good to have
Experience in logistics, supply chain, e-commerce, or SaaS sales.
A record of hitting upsell, cross-sell, or revenue-growth targets.
Fluency in a regional languages is a plus
Key Qualities
Consultative mindset: You treat each call as a chance to understand the customer's
business, not just to complete a checklist.
Engagement skill: You can keep a busy business owner on the line because the
conversation is worth their time.
Quick learner: You absorb product details (vehicle types, city coverage, pricing) and
industry context quickly.
Ownership: You treat each account as your own and push opportunities through to
closure.
Coachability: You welcome feedback on your calls and apply it.
Resilience: Rejections and short calls don't throw you off.
