Job Title; Senior Business Analyst / Proxy Product Owner - Digital Assets Role Purpose We are seeking a strong
Senior Business Analyst / Proxy Product Owner - Digital Assets to support the analysis, definition, prioritization, and delivery of digital asset initiatives within a regulated financial services environment. This role requires a candidate with relevant experience in
digital assets, blockchain / DLT, cross-border payments, real-world asset tokenization, compliance, and AML-related requirements . The ideal candidate will be able to work across business, operations, compliance, legal, risk, and technology teams to translate complex business needs into clear requirements, process flows, business rules, and implementation-ready documentation. In addition to core business analysis responsibilities, the role will provide
proxy product owner support across assigned workstreams, including requirement prioritization, stakeholder coordination, meeting governance, presentation support, action tracking, and delivery follow-through.
Key Responsibilities Business Analysis and Requirements Management
- Lead business analysis activities across digital asset and blockchain-related initiatives from discovery through detailed requirements and delivery support.
- Gather, analyze, validate, and document business, functional, operational, and control requirements.
- Translate business objectives into clear business requirements, user stories, business rules, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure requirements are complete, traceable, well-structured, and suitable for design, development, testing, and implementation.
- Identify requirement gaps, dependencies, risks, and open points, and drive timely clarification.
Process Design and Functional Documentation
- Document current-state and target-state processes, user journeys, exception scenarios, control points, and operating procedures.
- Define business workflows covering transaction lifecycle, approvals, exception handling, reconciliation, reporting, and audit requirements.
- Produce high-quality documentation including BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process maps, gap analyses, business rules, and test scenarios.
- Support walkthroughs with business and technology teams to validate requirements and confirm scope.
Domain Analysis – Digital Assets and Payments
- Support analysis and documentation of requirements related to digital assets, blockchain / DLT-enabled capabilities, and associated operational processes.
- Gather and document requirements related to
cross-border payment flows , transaction processing, settlement, reconciliation, and operational controls.
- Support business analysis for
real-world asset tokenization , including asset onboarding, issuance flows, lifecycle events, ownership tracking, transfer restrictions, servicing, and redemption.
- Capture requirements related to wallet, custody, transaction handling, onboarding, controls, and servicing where relevant.
- Ensure all requirements are practical, implementation-oriented, and aligned with business goals.
Compliance, AML, and Control Requirements
- Work closely with compliance, AML, legal, and risk teams to capture regulatory and policy-driven requirements.
- Document requirements related to KYC, onboarding, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity handling, approvals, record keeping, and audit trails.
- Ensure compliance and AML considerations are fully embedded into process design, requirement documents, and delivery discussions.
- Support traceability of control requirements through design, testing, and implementation phases.
Proxy Product Owner Responsibilities
- Act as a
proxy product owner for assigned workstreams by helping translate business priorities into structured delivery scope and actionable backlog items.
- Support prioritization of requirements, enhancements, defects, and change requests in alignment with business objectives and delivery timelines.
- Provide functional clarification to technology and delivery teams during design, build, testing, and implementation.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure business intent is preserved throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Help align scope, priorities, and expected outcomes across business and delivery teams.
Stakeholder Coordination, MoMs, and Presentations
- Facilitate workshops, requirement sessions, working groups, and functional discussions with business, operations, compliance, legal, and technology teams.
- Prepare and maintain
Minutes of Meeting (MoM) , action trackers, decision logs, and follow-up items.
- Track open items and decisions and proactively follow through with relevant stakeholders for closure.
- Support preparation of
presentations, status updates, requirement summaries, and decision papers for working groups, project forums, and management reviews.
- Communicate complex functional topics in a clear and structured way for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Testing and Delivery Support
- Support creation of test scenarios, test cases, and business acceptance criteria.
- Assist with validation of delivered functionality against business requirements.
- Support UAT, defect clarification, implementation readiness, and business sign-off activities.
- Work with project and delivery teams to ensure requirements are understood, tested, and implemented effectively.
Mandatory Skills and Experience Experience
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Analyst in banking, payments, financial services, fintech, or other regulated environments
- Strong experience in
digital assets, blockchain / DLT, or tokenization-related initiatives
- Relevant experience in
cross-border payments
- Relevant experience in
real-world asset tokenization
- Strong experience capturing requirements involving
compliance, AML, controls, and operational processes
- Proven ability to work across business, operations, compliance, legal, and technology teams
Functional and Domain Knowledge
- Good understanding of digital assets, blockchain / DLT concepts, tokenization, wallet and custody operating models, settlement and reconciliation flows
- Strong understanding of cross-border payment processes and transaction lifecycle
- Good understanding of AML, sanctions, KYC, transaction monitoring, and control requirements within regulated environments
- Ability to translate emerging business concepts into structured and implementable requirements
Business Analysis and Product Support Skills
- Strong requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation capability
- Ability to create high-quality BRDs, FRDs, user stories, business rules, process maps, and test scenarios
- Experience supporting prioritization, backlog clarification, and day-to-day functional decision-making
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and traceability
- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong capability in preparing MoMs, action trackers, management summaries, and presentations
Preferred Skills
- Experience with digital asset custody, wallets, or token servicing requirements
- Exposure to smart contracts and blockchain platform capabilities from a business analysis perspective
- Experience working in product-led or platform-led delivery environments
- Familiarity with enterprise integration, APIs, and operational handoffs
- Understanding of governance, controls, and audit expectations in financial institutions
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Relevant business analysis certifications are an advantage
- Payments, compliance, or digital asset-related certifications are a plus
