About this role
About Stolt-Nielsen: Stolt-Nielsen is a family-founded global leader in bulk-liquid and chemical logistics, transportation, and storage, known for its commitment to safety, service excellence, and innovation. At the Stolt-Nielsen Digital Innovation Centre, we bring this legacy into the future — building smarter systems, driving digital transformation, and shaping what's next for the world of logistics. Here, you’re encouraged to think boldly, challenge convention, and help move today’s products toward tomorrow’s possibilities.
About the Role: The Senior Business Analyst plays a central role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams across our terminal operations and logistics domain. Across our businesses, our applications run business-critical processes — from order to cash, product inventory, and field operations to bulk-liquid storage, handling, and distribution — and the quality of our requirements and analysis directly determines the success of our delivery. As a Senior BA, your primary focus will be on eliciting, structuring, and validating requirements across complex, multi-stakeholder programmes. You will work closely with product owners, engineers, and operational business users to translate real-world challenges into actionable specifications and well-delivered solutions. We take Digital seriously. We invest in our teams through training and mentoring and enable them with the required tools to work in a modern way. As we are further building up our engineering practice, there is ample room for you to contribute, take initiative and shape the future of our ways of working and technology landscape.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead requirements gathering workshops with stakeholders across terminal operations, logistics, and enterprise functions to surface objectives, pain points, and solution options.
- Produce high-quality Business Requirement Specifications (BRS), Functional Specifications, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria in tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps.
- Act as the primary interface between business users and technology teams — managing ambiguity, resolving gaps, and keeping alignment throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to manage and refine the product backlog, supporting timely and prioritized sprint delivery.
- Perform impact analysis for proposed changes or enhancements, identifying gaps, customization requirements, and feasibility risks.
- Participate in System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring delivered solutions meet requirements and are production ready.
- Contribute to the design of reports, dashboards, and operational tooling in support of business decision-making.
- Deliver end-user training and provide hands-on go-live support for new deployments and enhancements.
- Apply domain knowledge of bulk-liquid terminal operations — including storage, handling, distribution, and maintenance workflows — to challenge requirements and propose fit-for-purpose solutions.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Business Analyst, with a strong focus on Shipping, Logistics, or Terminal Management Systems.
- Demonstrated experience delivering full lifecycle business analysis — from discovery and requirements through to UAT and go-live.
- Strong working knowledge of terminal operations, including storage, depot processes, and maintenance workflows.
- Proven experience in Agile project environments; skilled in writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and managing backlog activities.
- Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools for requirements and backlog management.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and experience in impact analysis and customization scoping.
- Relevant industry certification in shipping, logistics, or enterprise platforms is a strong advantage.
Must Have Skills:
- Ability to independently lead complex requirements gathering sessions and produce specification-grade documentation.
- Confident facilitation of UAT with business users and structured capture of outcomes.
- Experience working across cross-functional, globally distributed teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to translate complex operational situations into clear, workable requirements for technical teams.
- Strong communication skills — equally effective with senior stakeholders and engineering teams.
