Senior Business Analyst - Investment Banking

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst with expertise in Compliance Trade Surveillance in the Investment Banking sector to serve as a liaison connecting business operations and IT functions. The successful applicant will examine business workflows, collect requirements, and create practical solutions that support strategic objectives while maintaining compliance and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Identify necessary IT business solutions and support their rollout
• Perform requirements-gathering tasks using both internal and external data sources, including interviews with stakeholders
• Develop practical software solutions to resolve business challenges while keeping the strategic future state model in mind
• Create functional solutions grounded in comprehensive data analysis
• Serve as the main liaison between business users and the technology team throughout all phases of project implementation
• Support quality control efforts and project management tasks

Requirements

• 7-10 years of overall IT background, with several years dedicated to designing and developing enterprise software in distributed environments within financial services, ideally involving investment banking and compliance-focused projects
• Knowledge of capital markets along with familiarity with asset classes such as Equities, Fixed Income, FX, and their related derivative products
• Hands-on experience with compliance trade surveillance tools such as SMARTS, Trading Hub, and Actimize
• Proficiency in business analysis methods, including the ability to interpret technical requirements and build dependable solutions
• Competency in data analysis and querying, including SQL query writing, to support requirements collection
• Background working with Cloud platforms, Azure preferred, particularly in Data Ingestion, Data Cleansing, and Data Egress
• Exposure to Agile delivery practices, including serving in a Scrum Master capacity
• Ability to produce clear, concise, and comprehensive requirements and functional design documents at a professional level
• Excellent verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to adjust style depending on the audience
• Enthusiasm for technology and the development of IT systems and applications
• Adaptability to collaborate across varied teams, functions, and cultures
• Demonstrated skill in facilitating issue resolution and readiness to work beyond defined role boundaries to achieve desired results
