Senior - BI Developer

Job Summary

This is a hands-on technically focused position with the Enterprise Information Management and Analytics development team that will be responsible for the development and production support of Business Intelligence (BI) Reporting applications using MicroStrategy and Power BI.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to establish effective working relationships and manage multiple priorities while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.

This position also works closely with business analysts to review business requirements and to produce technical design specs that will meet the requirements.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for analyzing business requirements and developing MicroStrategy and Power BI reporting applications
• Translate business requirement documentation into technical design specifications
• Perform BI development assignments to established standards
• Lead small-scale BI development projects involving multiple IT and Business teams
• Ability to build strong relationships within the department, with other ITG teams, and with business partners.
• Identify and implement process improvements within BI reporting applications and the overall BI development process
• Expected to function as technical SME for BI reporting applications and understand the overall integration/interface design
• Respond to and fix on call production issues
• Perform root cause analysis, implement solution and create technical documentation
• Ability to multi-task effectively
• Ability to establish and meet target dates

Education Experience

• Bachelor's degree in business intelligence, strong SQL, and real time experience on Business Objects.
• Typically, 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, reporting, analytics, shared services, or a related environment.
• Experience preparing performance reports, business review materials, or dashboards for operational or functional leadership.

Must Have Skills

• Required experience working with BI / Power BI
• Required experience working with Teradata, SQL Server and/or Google BigQuery
• Required BI reporting solution design and development
• Strong SQL experience with demonstrated understanding of relational and multi-dimensional database design
• Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve problems
• Experience on Business Objects.
• Excellent written and verbal skills with an ability to interpret and communicate analytical information
• Adeptness to learn new technologies and applications quickly
