About this role
At Equiti, we're building fintech with a purpose: making wealth tools accessible to everyone. As we continue to grow, we're seeking talented individuals who thrive in innovative environments, and we are on the lookout for talented individuals who can perform and excel in a dynamic and innovative working environment. Our Data department would like to welcome a detail-oriented individual.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop Power BI reports, dashboards and supporting datasets on certified gold semantic models.
- Migrate legacy reports onto the gold model and automate recurring manual reporting (including end-of-quarter finance outputs), retiring untrusted or duplicated reports.
- Enhance, maintain and adapt data models to changing business and operational requirements, in line with the Group's modelling and DAX standards.
- Build and deliver capabilities that enable business self-service around reporting, analytics and dashboarding.
- Validate outputs rigorously against certified definitions; troubleshoot and correct issues in existing reports.
- Apply AI-assisted development in daily work - LLM-assisted DAX, M and SQL, Copilot in Power BI, and automated data-quality and reconciliation checks - while owning the accuracy of what ships.
- Tune performance of models and reports (query folding, incremental refresh, aggregations).
- Provide technical consultation to business partners across global offices and document what you build.
- Contribute improvements to the BI team's ways of working - documentation, reusable patterns, quality checks - and implement them.
- Support a repeatable onboarding pattern as new Group entities adopt the shared BI platform.
Requirements:
- Strong command of the Microsoft Power BI stack, with advanced DAX for data shaping and modelling and strong Power Query / M skills.
- Data visualisation craft and command of best practices for executive and operational audiences.
- Rigorous validation habits - you treat reconciliation against certified definitions as part of the build, not an afterthought.
- Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders across time zones.
- Comfort using AI coding and analysis assistants productively and critically.
- Self-starter who can take a designed pattern and deliver volume against it with high quality.
- 4+ years of commercial experience in BI development or analytics, with substantial hands-on Power BI delivery.
- Data modelling experience with Tabular models; advanced DAX in production reports.
- Strong MS SQL Server / T-SQL experience; SSIS or modern pipeline tooling (e. g., Azure Data Factory / Fabric pipelines) is a plus.
- Experience migrating or consolidating legacy reporting estates is a strong advantage.
- Performance troubleshooting and tuning of Power BI models and reports.
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Power BI deployment pipelines, or streaming datasets is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field, or compensating experience.
