About this role
- Key responsibilities include preparing vegetables, meat, seafood, spices, sauces, garnishes, and other ingredients according to recipes and production requirements
- The candidate will assist with cooking and plating dishes, monitor food quality and freshness, and ensure that meals are prepared according to established taste, portion, and presentation standards
- The role may involve supporting breakfast, lunch, dinner, buffet, banquet, or large-scale food production depending on the kitchen
- The Senior Assistant - Cook will maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, equipment, and food preparation areas
- Proper food storage, labeling, temperature control, and hygiene practices must be followed at all times
- The candidate should also help monitor kitchen stock, reduce food wastage, and inform the responsible chef about shortages or quality concerns
- The role requires close coordination with chefs, cooks, kitchen helpers, service staff, and other team members
- The candidate may also guide junior kitchen assistants in basic preparation and cleaning activities when required
