Role Description: The Senior Application Engineer – C++ / MFC is a full-time, on-site role based in Mysore. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining C++ and MFC-based applications, including user interfaces and core application logic for cloud and DevOps-related solutions. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical designs, and implement robust, efficient, and scalable software features. Daily activities include debugging and resolving application issues, optimizing performance, performing unit and integration testing, and providing technical support for production deployments. The role also involves reviewing code, mentoring junior engineers, contributing to best practices, and ensuring alignment with security, compliance, and reliability standards.

Key Responsibilities Develop Features: Design and implement desktop application features using C++ and MFC.

Optimize Performance: Maintain, debug, and refactor existing legacy codebases for maximum speed.

Architect Solutions : Create clean, reusable, and scalable object-oriented software architectures.

Collaborate Daily: Work with product managers and QA to deliver high-quality releases.

Qualifications

• Strong software development skills in C++, MFC, and related frameworks, with experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex applications.
• Experience: Minimum 6+ years of professional desktop software development experience.
• Ability to provide technical support, troubleshoot application issues, and collaborate with operations teams to ensure stable and reliable deployments.
• Core Languages: Advanced proficiency in modern C++ (C++11/14/17) and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with testing practices, including unit, integration, and regression testing, and familiarity with automated testing tools and frameworks.
• Tooling: Expert knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio, compiler configurations, and MSBuild.
• Background or exposure to Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering concepts is beneficial for integrating software with hardware or system-level solutions.
• Debugging: Strong skills in memory leak detection using tools like WinDbg or Visual Studio Diagnostic Tools.
• Database: Proficiency in SQL and database connectivity (OLEDB, ODBC, or ADO).
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills, with attention to detail and a focus on code quality and maintainability.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional, on-site teams.
