Senior Android Camera Application Developer

Join a team developing next-generation camera experiences for Android devices. As a Senior Android Camera Application Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing advanced camera applications, working closely with camera, imaging, multimedia, and platform teams to deliver high-performance and feature-rich mobile solutions.

Your Role

You will play a key role in building and enhancing Android camera applications, leveraging Android framework components, Camera2 APIs, image processing technologies, and performance optimization techniques. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality camera features while ensuring application stability, responsiveness, and user experience.

• Design, develop, and maintain Android camera applications and camera-related features.
• Implement and optimize camera functionalities using Android Camera2 APIs.
• Work on image processing pipelines, performance enhancements, and multimedia integrations.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application, camera, and performance-related issues.
• Optimize application responsiveness, memory usage, stability, and overall system performance.
• Develop unit tests, automation test cases, and support software quality initiatives.
• Utilize debugging and profiling tools to identify bottlenecks and improve application reliability.
• Collaborate with camera, framework, multimedia, testing, and product teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical reviews, and feature planning activities.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and AI Coding Assistants to improve development productivity.

Your Profile

• 3–8 years of experience in Android Application Development.
• Strong programming expertise in Java and Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining Android Camera Applications.
• Strong expertise in Android Camera2 API and camera application architecture.
• Good understanding of Android Framework components including Activities, Fragments, Services, Broadcast Receivers, and Content Providers.
• Experience with JNI (Java Native Interface) and Android native integrations.
• Knowledge of Jetpack Libraries, Android design patterns, and application architecture principles.
• Strong understanding of Multithreading, Operating System concepts, and Android application lifecycle.
• Experience in Image Processing, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Proficiency in memory management, bug analysis, and issue resolution.
• Hands-on experience with Android development and debugging tools including Android Profiler, Systrace, Logcat, and LeakCanary.
• Experience using Git, Perforce, and Gradle Build System.
• Experience in Unit Testing and Automation Testing.
• Strong analytical, debugging, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of C++ and native Android development.
• Experience with camera middleware, camera frameworks, or imaging systems.
• Understanding of multimedia frameworks and smartphone camera technologies.
• Experience in camera application testing, validation, and defect analysis.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated build environments.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools and prompt engineering techniques.
