How You'll Help Us Connect The World We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Server Administrator to support and optimize our enterprise Linux environment. This role is critical to ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing Linux infrastructure across the organization. You will bring deep expertise in system performance tuning, DNS management, server security, identity integration (e.g., with Active Directory or LDAP), and automation scripting. This role can be based in Goa or Hyderabad, India
You Will Make An Impact By
- Deploying, configuring, and maintaining Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or other enterprise distributions) in production and development environments.
- Performing advanced performance tuning of kernel parameters, system processes, memory, and I/O subsystems to maximize uptime and efficiency.
- Managing and troubleshooting DNS services (BIND, dnsmasq, or integrated with Active Directory), including forward and reverse zones, zone transfers, and name resolution.
- Implementing security best practices for hardening Linux systems, including firewalls (iptables/nftables), SELinux/AppArmor, patch management, and log auditing.
- Integrating Linux systems with identity and access management platforms such as Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos, or SSO providers.
- Writing and maintaining automation scripts using Bash, Python, Perl, or Ansible to streamline administration, monitoring, and configuration tasks.
- Monitoring system health, logs, and metrics using tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Maintaining and documenting system configurations, processes, and incident response procedures.
- Collaborating with development, DevOps, and security teams on infrastructure projects and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications For Consideration
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT or Computer Science or a related field.
- 5 to 8 years of professional experience managing Linux servers in a production environment.
- Deep knowledge of Linux system internals, kernel tuning, and resource optimization.
- Strong understanding of DNS configuration and management (authoritative and recursive servers).
- Proven experience with system security hardening, log auditing, and compliance enforcement.
- Experience integrating Linux systems with central identity management systems (AD, LDAP, FreeIPA).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python) and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
You Will Excite Us If You
- Have experience with systemd, cron, and init process management.
- Are familiar with containers (Docker, Podman) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
- Have exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure.
- Possess knowledge of public key infrastructure (PKI), certificate management, and secure shell (SSH) practices.
- Have certifications in: + Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) + Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS) + CompTIA Linux+, Security+, or LPIC-2 + GIAC Certified Unix Security Administrator (GCUX) (a plus) Why ANDREW?
