Senior Accountant

Role Overview:

This position is responsible for overseeing the financial and accounting operations of the Hong Kong entity from India. The candidate will handle bookkeeping, financial reporting, compliance coordination, and support internal and external audits.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Bookkeeping & Reporting

• Maintain day-to-day accounting entries in accordance with Hong Kong accounting standards.
• Ensure accurate posting of transactions to the ledger and sub-ledgers.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
• Track fixed assets and maintain depreciation schedules.

2. Billing & Receivables

• Prepare and issue client invoices based on project deliverables and agreements.
• Maintain AR ledger and monitor ageing reports.
• Coordinate with Hong Kong business team for timely collections and client follow-up.
• Reconcile client accounts and resolve discrepancies.

3. Payments & Payables

• Record vendor invoices, staff reimbursements, and other liabilities.
• Process payments in accordance with approval matrix and bank procedures.
• Reconcile vendor accounts and maintain up-to-date payable ledgers.

4. Banking & Forex Handling

• Reconcile bank statements and record forex gains/losses.
• Ensure proper documentation and recording for intercompany fund transfers.

5. Compliance & Statutory Support

• Support consultants in handling GST, Profits Tax, and other statutory returns.
• Assist in maintaining statutory registers and supporting documents.
• Coordinate for audit schedules, reports, and documentation.

6. Coordination with Stakeholders

• Communicate with Hong Kong-based auditors, tax consultants, and vendors.
• Support internal teams with project costing, budgeting, and ad hoc reporting.
• Align monthly closure and compliance schedule with the Finance Controller.

Qualifications & Experience:

• B. Com / M. Com / CA Inter /or equivalent qualification.
• 4 to 6 years of accounting experience; prior exposure to Hong Kong entities preferred.
• Knowledge of Hong Kong taxation, including GST and Profits Tax, is a plus.
• Experience with accounting tools like Xero / QuickBooks is desirable.
