Job Title: L1 Security Monitoring Engineer Firewall / IPS / DDoS

Job Summary

We are looking for an L1 Security Monitoring Engineer with 3+ years of relevant experience in Network Security and Cybersecurity monitoring. The candidate will be responsible for 247 monitoring, alert triage, initial investigation, incident documentation and escalation related to Next-Generation Firewalls, Check Point IPS, Palo Alto Malware Sandboxing and NetScout Anti-DDoS solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and perform initial triage of security alerts to identify genuine threats and false positives.
• Analyze Check Point IPS alerts and investigate potential network intrusions and malicious traffic.
• Review Palo Alto malware sandboxing reports to identify malicious files, understand their behavior and determine potentially affected systems.
• Monitor NetScout Anti-DDoS alerts and traffic anomalies to identify potential DDoS attacks.
• Investigate, document and maintain accurate records of security incidents and affected assets.
• Escalate confirmed security incidents and complex issues to L2/L3 teams with detailed investigation notes.
• Follow established incident response procedures and maintain security tickets.
• Support security patching, signed software updates, system scans, plugin updates and security system maintenance.
• Maintain the inventory of security assets, including OS, database, web server, application and IP address details.

Education: BE/B.Tech in Computer Science/IT, BCA/MCA or a Master's degree in Computer Science/IT
Certifications: CEH / CCNA Security / PCNSA or equivalent OEM certification
