Section Head Pyro Mechanical - Belgaum

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Maintenance & Reliability

• Ensure high availability and reliability of all Pyro mechanical equipment.
• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Monitor and improve equipment health through condition monitoring and reliability initiatives.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major failures and implement corrective actions.
• Optimize MTBF and reduce MTTR of critical equipment.

Equipment Accountability

Responsible for maintenance and performance of:

• HD 11,000 TPD Kiln ,IKN Clinker Cooler, Loesche Coal Mill, Coal Feeding & Transport Systems
• Process Fans and Auxiliary Equipment, Clinker Conveying Equipment, Hydraulic and Lubrication Systems

Shutdown Planning & Execution

• Prepare annual, quarterly, and monthly shutdown plans.
• Define shutdown scope, resources, spare requirements, contractor deployment, and budgets.
• Ensure shutdown activities are completed safely within schedule and budget.
• Conduct post-shutdown reviews and implement improvement actions.

Spare Parts & Inventory Management

• Develop critical spare parts strategy.
• Ensure timely availability of shutdown and emergency spares.
• Optimize inventory levels while maintaining equipment reliability.
• Coordinate closely with procurement, stores, and OEMs.

Safety, Health & Environment

• Enforce PTW, LOTO, confined space, hot work, and work-at-height procedures.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, plant safety, and environmental requirements.
• Lead safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Promote zero-harm culture within employees and contractors.

Cost & Budget Management

• Prepare and manage annual maintenance budgets.
• Monitor and control maintenance costs.
• Identify cost optimization and lifecycle improvement opportunities.
• Support CAPEX planning and execution for modernization and reliability projects.

Continuous Improvement

• Drive TPM, Kaizen, Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Best Maintenance Practices.
• Lead equipment improvement and debottlenecking projects.
• Implement predictive maintenance technologies and digital maintenance initiatives.
• Standardize maintenance procedures and work instructions.

Contractor & Vendor Management

• Manage maintenance contractors and service providers.
• Evaluate contractor performance and ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with OEMs for technical support, audits, and equipment upgrades.

Training & People Development

• Develop annual training and competency enhancement plans for engineers, supervisors, technicians, and contract workforce.
• Maintain skill matrix and identify competency gaps.
• Organize OEM training programs for KHD Kiln, IKN Cooler, and Loesche Mill systems.
• Mentor and develop team members for succession planning and leadership growth.
