SDET/ Test Automation Engineer - Telecom Domain

Role SummarySeeking a senior, highly technical SDET / Test Automation Engineer to lead quality engineering and automation for a large-scale telecom bill-presentment modernization program. This role will be responsible for building automation frameworks, automated test suites, and reusable test scripts across APIs, microservices, high-volume batch processing, data validation, document generation (PDF/AFP), UI applications, performance testing, and integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can build automation frameworks, develop automated test scripts and end to end test suites, design performance-testing strategies, validate large-scale bill-processing systems, and establish shift-left quality practices across multiple delivery teams.Required Experience

• 8+ years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, and test automation.
• Strong experience building enterprise-scale automation frameworks from the ground up.
• Experience testing large-scale distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and high-volume batch-processing applications.
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong programming skills in Java and/or Python.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments and collaborating with Architects, Developers, Product Owners, DevOps Engineers, and Technical Leads.

Required Technical SkillsAutomation Testing

• Strong experience with Playwright or Selenium
• API automation using REST Assured or equivalent frameworks
• JUnit/TestNG or equivalent testing frameworks

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement the overall automation strategy for the platform.
• Build automation frameworks for:

• Develop automated parity-validation solutions between BriteBill and the new platform.
• Automate validation of:
• PDF outputs
• AFP outputs
• JSON/XML outputs
• Billing data mappings
• Reconciliation rules
• Account, BAN, bill-run, and cycle-level processing
• Create automated validation for cycle processing, error handling, reprocessing, and cycle-close controls.
• Establish test coverage, test data, environment, automation, and release quality standards.
• Develop and maintain test plans, test execution schedules, and quality metrics.
• Monitor test progress, defect trends, and overall release readiness.
• Design and execute performance-testing strategies for high-volume bill-generation workloads.
• Validate throughput, scalability, latency, and SLA requirements.
• Build automated quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.
• Partner with development teams to implement shift-left quality practices and reduce defect leakage into QA environments.
