SDE Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices following clean architecture and coding standards.
• Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and transactions using PostgreSQL/MySQL or similar databases.
• Implement event-driven services using Kafka/RabbitMQ where required.
• Build secure applications using authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth2, JWT, or Keycloak.
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and testable code with appropriate unit and integration testing.
• Identify and resolve performance, scalability, reliability, and production issues.
• Participate in system design and architecture discussions and contribute to technical decisions.
• Implement appropriate logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting for production services.
• Work with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms such as AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering and security standards.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and technical discussions.
• Take ownership of features from requirement analysis through development, deployment, and production support.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to improving engineering practices.
