The Site Reliability Officer (SRO) is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, scalability, and performance of cloud infrastructure and services. The role focuses on monitoring, incident management, automation, and continuous improvement of cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure high availability and performance of cloud platforms and applications.
- Monitor systems, respond to alerts, and manage production incidents.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and post-incident reviews.
- Participate in on-call rotations and meet defined SLAs.
- Collaborate with Cloud Engineers, DevOps, and Application teams.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
- Automate operational tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Support cloud deployments, upgrades, and disaster recovery activities.
- Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and operational documentation.
Required Skills Competencies
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP).
- Knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Scripting or automation skills (Python, Bash, Terraform).
- Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.
- Understanding of SRE principles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Cloud/SRE certifications are an added advantage.
Experience
- 3-6 years in Cloud Operations, SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering
