About the Company The company is building autonomous AI systems for one of the most complex and high-stakes industries in the world, US healthcare revenue cycle. It is backed by leading venture capital investors and has built clinically driven AI that generates highly accurate medical codes at scale. What traditionally required large teams and weeks of manual effort can now be done autonomously with speed, precision, and reliability. The company has seen rapid growth alongside strong customer retention. Its customers expand because the impact is measurable, including improved accuracy, reduced coding costs, and faster revenue realization. This is applied AI in live healthcare systems, not experimentation. As the company scales, it is building the foundational data layer that will power its next phase of growth.
Why Explore This Career Opportunity Joining this team means working on a hard, real-world AI problem with a small, high-ownership team. You will build systems that make engineering faster, quality stronger, and production more reliable. The company values structured thinkers, high-agency builders, and people who can convert messy workflows into simple, scalable systems.
About the Role
- You will build the tooling, CI/CD infrastructure, and reliability data pipelines that make the engineering team faster and production systems safer.
- This is an early-career engineering role for someone who enjoys platform, DevEx, automation, and data-backed productivity work.
- You will own practical systems, including quality gates, dashboards, developer workflows, BigQuery pipelines, post-deploy monitoring, and the infrastructure that internal AI agents run on.
Key Responsibilities Developer Tooling and CI/CD
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines across core repositories.
- Implement pre-commit hooks, linting, type checks, PR templates, quality gates, and pipeline observability.
- Optimize pipeline runtime, reliability, caching, and required checks so engineers get fast and trustworthy feedback.
- Build change-risk labeling and deployment communication workflows for high-risk changes. Productivity and Reliability Data
- Build pipelines that pull GitHub, PagerDuty, CI/CD, deploy, and reliability data into BigQuery.
- Maintain dashboards for DORA metrics, PR cycle time, MTTR, change failure rate, alert volume, SLOs, and Claude and API cost.
- Build post-deploy monitoring that watches error rates, latency, and relevant quality signals after production releases.
- Maintain data schemas and scheduled refreshes used by AI agents and SRE-AI workflows. Platform Support for Agents
- Support webhook listeners, event routing, deployment, monitoring, and logging for internal agents.
- Partner with the AI Agents Engineer and Staff SDET to provide clean BigQuery data for incident response, anomaly detection, and regression checks.
- Document tools and runbooks so engineering teams can self-serve without depending on tribal knowledge.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably with exposure to DevEx, platform, automation, infra, or productivity tooling.
- Strong Java skills, with the ability to read, debug, and write production application code in the company's stack.
- Working knowledge of Python for scripts, automation, data pipelines, and internal tooling.
- Hands-on GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD experience, including having written or meaningfully modified CI YAML and debugged pipeline failures.
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized builds.
- Comfortable with REST APIs, webhooks, pagination, rate limits, retries, and basic auth and security patterns.
- Basic cloud familiarity, preferably GCP or AWS, including IAM, object storage, service deployment, and scheduled jobs.
- Strong SQL and BigQuery fundamentals, including joins, partitions, scheduled queries, window functions, and cost-aware querying.
- Experience building simple data pipelines from APIs into a warehouse or dashboard.
- Clear documentation habits, including README, runbook, dashboard notes, and handover documents.
Nice to Have
- Looker, Metabase, Grafana, or equivalent dashboarding experience.
- dbt or other transformation-layer experience.
- SonarQube or SonarCloud, static analysis, or code quality tooling experience.
- Slack Block Kit, GitHub PR Review API, PagerDuty API, or similar integrations.
- Genuine interest in developer productivity as a career path, not just as a stepping stone to product engineering.
Benefits
- Exceptional total compensation.
- Hybrid setup.
- Work with a world-class team on a very forward-looking AI problem.
- Leading healthcare benefits.
- Be part of a team working on AI applied to healthcare.
- Work in a collaborative environment with opportunities for professional growth.
- Contribute to impactful projects that improve patient care and clinical efficiency.
