SDE 4 - Backend

Responsibilities:

• Own and drive backend architecture for biometrics and ML model deployment and serving platforms.
• Design and build scalable, secure model-serving services for deployment, versioning, and inference.
• Lead cross-team architecture initiatives and establish backend and platform standards.
• Design real-time and batch inference workflows for latency, throughput, resilience, and cost.
• Operate production systems with a focus on reliability, performance, scalability, and capacity.
• Deploy and manage services on AWS, including ECS/Fargate, SageMaker, EC2 and Kubernetes.
• Drive CI/CD, infrastructure automation, testing, and safe deployment and rollout practices.
• Lead architecture reviews, mentor engineers, and drive engineering best practices.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Strong Java backend development skills with working knowledge of Python.
• Strong experience in backend architecture, system design, and technical leadership.
• Hands-on AWS experience with DynamoDB, ECS, EC2 Redis, S3 and SageMaker.
• Strong production experience with Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools, CI/CD, and deployment automation.
• Strong production reliability and observability experience with Datadog, New Relic, or similar tools.
• Understanding of ML model deployment, serving, versioning, inference APIs, and scaling.
• Strong system design skills across availability, performance, security, maintainability, and cost.
