SDE 2 (Backend)

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help architect, build, and scale the core systems powering SpotDraft's platform. In this role, you'll lead the development of reliable backend services, scalable APIs, and distributed systems that support our rapidly growing product and customer base. You'll work closely with product, engineering, and AI teams to drive high-impact initiatives, improve platform performance and reliability, and contribute to key architectural and engineering decisions across the platform.

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in backend development, distributed systems, and scalable application design, preferably within fast-paced B2B product or SaaS environments. We're looking for engineers with 4-7 years of experience who can take end-to-end ownership, solve complex technical challenges, and help scale both systems and engineering practices at SpotDraft.

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

System Design and Architecture:

• Design and build scalable backend systems with a strong focus on reliability and performance.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and influence system design across services.
• Own end-to-end system design, including HLDs and LLDs.
• Make thoughtful trade-offs balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability.

Product and Engineering Collaboration:

• Work closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to ship impactful features.
• Translate ambiguous product requirements into clear technical solutions.
• Participate in cross-functional discussions and influence product direction.

Execution and Ownership:

• Own features and systems end-to-end from ideation to production and beyond.
• Build systems from scratch and evolve them as they scale.
• Take accountability for the reliability, performance, and uptime of owned systems.
• Demonstrate strong ownership and autonomy in driving outcomes.
