Scrum Master

Role Summary

Novastrid is hiring a delivery-focused Scrum Master who goes beyond facilitating ceremonies

and takes end-to-end ownership of sprint execution, delivery predictability, and team

efficiency.

This role is not administrative. The expectation is to drive execution discipline, eliminate

inefficiencies, enforce Agile rigor, and ensure measurable improvement in delivery

outcomes across sprints.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

1. Sprint Execution & Delivery Predictability

• Own end-to-end sprint execution with a clear focus on on-time, high-quality delivery.
• Ensure 90% sprint commitment reliability (planned vs delivered).
• Track and improve velocity stability across sprints (minimize fluctuations).
• Drive clear sprint goals and enforce scope discipline (no uncontrolled spillovers).2. Agile Governance & Process Discipline
• Enforce strict adherence to Scrum practicesno dilution of ceremonies or shortcuts.
• Ensure all ceremonies are outcome-driven, time-boxed, and actionable.
• Establish and monitor Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD)

compliance.

• Bring structure to backlog hygieneno ambiguous or unrefined user stories entering

sprint.

3. Impediment Removal & Risk Management

• Proactively identify and eliminate blockers within 24–48 hours SLA.
• Maintain a risk & dependency register with clear mitigation plans.
• Escalate issues early—don’t wait for sprint failure to surface problems.
• Reduce recurring impediments through root cause analysis (RCA).

4. Metrics, Reporting & Visibility

• Track and publish weekly dashboards covering:
• Provide transparent, no-noise reporting to stakeholders—facts, not narratives.
• Drive data-based decisions, not opinion-based execution.

5. Stakeholder & Cross-Team Alignment

• Ensure tight alignment between Product Owner, Engineering, QA, and external

stakeholders.

• Manage cross-team dependencies with clear ownership and timelines.
• Eliminate communication gaps that impact delivery timelines.6. Continuous Improvement & Team Efficiency
• Convert retrospective insights into measurable action items with ownership and

closure tracking.

• Improve team efficiency through:
• Drive adoption of best practices across Agile, DevOps, and QA integration.

7. Tools, Documentation & Process Standardization

• Ensure disciplined usage of Jira, Confluence, and reporting tools.
• Maintain structured documentation for:
• Standardize processes across teams—avoid ad-hoc execution.

Core Responsibilities

• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies with clear outcomes and accountability.
• Work closely with Product Owners to ensure prioritized, refined, and execution-ready

backlog.

• Monitor sprint health daily and intervene proactively.
• Ensure alignment with overall SDLC, release management, and delivery governance

frameworks.

• Act as the first line of control for delivery slippage and execution gaps.
