Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Scrum Master with 10+ years of experience in Agile delivery, Scrum practices, stakeholder management, and cross-functional team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Agile methodologies and proven experience driving Scrum ceremonies, removing impediments, improving team performance, and ensuring predictable delivery.

The candidate should also have hands-on expertise in Jira and Confluence, including creating and maintaining Jira dashboards, filters, reports, Agile boards, and delivery metrics for engineering teams and senior management.

Key Responsibilities

Scrum & Agile Delivery

• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective, and Backlog Refinement.
• Coach Scrum Teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure Scrum processes are followed effectively while encouraging team ownership and self-organization.
• Identify and remove impediments that affect team productivity and sprint delivery.
• Track sprint commitments, dependencies, risks, blockers, and delivery progress.
• Work closely with Product Owners to ensure the product backlog is prioritized, refined, and ready for upcoming sprints.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement through retrospectives and actionable improvement plans.
• Support multiple Agile teams and coordinate cross-team dependencies where required.
• Facilitate communication between engineering, product, QA, architecture, DevOps, and business stakeholders.

Jira Administration & Dashboard Creation

• Create, configure, and maintain Jira Scrum/Kanban boards based on team and project requirements.
• Develop customized Jira dashboards for Scrum Teams, Product Owners, Engineering Managers, and senior leadership.
• Create and maintain advanced Jira filters and JQL queries to support reporting and delivery tracking.
• Build dashboards displaying key Agile metrics such as:
• Sprint progress
• Sprint burndown/burnup
• Velocity
• Story points completed
• Release progress
• Epic progress
• Cycle time
• Lead time
• Work in Progress (WIP)
• Defect trends
• Blocked issues
• Aging tickets
• Team capacity and utilization
• Sprint spillover
• Configure Jira reports and gadgets to provide meaningful delivery insights.
• Maintain Jira workflows, issue types, fields, screens, filters, and permissions in collaboration with Jira administrators.
• Establish standardized Jira reporting practices across Agile teams.
• Automate recurring Jira reporting where possible.
• Ensure Jira data quality and consistency to support accurate management reporting.

Stakeholder & Leadership Responsibilities

• Provide regular Agile delivery status and metrics to leadership.
• Highlight delivery risks, dependencies, blockers, and areas requiring management attention.
• Facilitate cross-team dependency and planning sessions.
• Partner with engineering and product leadership to improve delivery predictability.
• Support Agile transformation and organizational process improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior Scrum Masters and Agile practitioners.
• Promote transparency through effective metrics, dashboards, and communication.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong hands-on experience as a Scrum Master / Senior Scrum Master / Agile Delivery Lead.
• Excellent knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, Agile principles, and Lean practices.
• Strong experience working with software engineering and cross-functional technology teams.
• Advanced knowledge of Jira and JQL.
• Hands-on experience creating Jira dashboards, reports, filters, Scrum/Kanban boards, and Agile metrics.
• Experience managing multiple teams and complex project dependencies.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience with Agile metrics and delivery reporting.
• Strong facilitation, coaching, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience identifying and resolving impediments and delivery risks.
• Ability to work effectively with Product Owners, Engineering Managers, Developers, QA, DevOps, Architects, and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
• SAFe certification such as SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) is an advantage.
• Jira/Atlassian certification is a plus.
• Experience with Confluence and Agile documentation.
• Experience working in large-scale Agile environments.
• Experience with Jira integrations and reporting/analytics tools is desirable.
• Experience supporting Agile transformation initiatives.
