Scrub Nurse

Job Specification:

Educational Qualification: B.Sc Nursing or GNM with valid nursing council registration.

Technical Skills: OT preparation and sterile field maintenance, Surgical instrument handling, Infection control and sterilization techniques, Surgical counting procedures, Emergency response handling.

Experience: 1–3 years of OT/Surgical experience preferred.

Personal Attributes: Compassionate, professional, adaptable, and able to work under pressure.

Job Description:

• Prepare operation theatre for surgical procedures.
• Arrange and maintain sterile surgical instruments and supplies.
• Assist surgeons during surgeries by providing required instruments and materials.
• Maintain strict aseptic and infection control practices.
• Perform surgical counts for instruments, needles, and sponges before and after procedures.
• Ensure proper handling and sterilization of surgical equipment.
• Coordinate with circulating nurses and OT technicians.
• Monitor availability of OT consumables and supplies.
• Handle specimens properly and send them for laboratory analysis when required.
• Ensure proper documentation related to surgical procedures.
• Assist in cleaning and preparation of OT after procedures.
• Follow NABH protocols and hospital safety standards.
• Participate in emergency and trauma surgeries whenever required.
