Job Title: School Counsellor

Location: Aga Khan School, Mundra, Gujarat

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counselling to students for academic, social, emotional, and behavioural concerns.
• Promote students' mental health, well-being, and personal development through preventive and developmental programmes.
• Conduct assessments and identify students requiring additional emotional or behavioural support.
• Work closely with teachers, parents, and school leadership to develop appropriate intervention strategies.
• Organize awareness sessions and workshops on life skills, stress management, career guidance, bullying prevention, child protection, and mental well-being.
• Support the implementation of the school's safeguarding and child protection policies.
• Maintain confidential counselling records and documentation in accordance with school policies and ethical guidelines.
• Refer students to external professionals or specialists when required.
• Participate in parent meetings, staff training, and school activities to promote a positive and inclusive school environment.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's degree in Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related field.
• Diploma or certification in School Counselling is preferred.
• Minimum 25 years of experience as a School Counsellor, preferably in a CBSE school.
• Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, mental health, and counselling techniques.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with professionalism.
