Scala Developer

We are looking for a skilled Scala Developer to join a high-performing Agile team. The candidate will work closely with business users and development teams to design, develop, test, and support scalable applications and distributed systems.

This is a hands-on technical role where the majority of time will be spent designing, coding, testing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions.

Role & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Scala.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Develop unit tests and support automated testing practices.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and backend services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine technical requirements.
• Participate in code reviews and continuous integration activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Work within Linux/Unix environments and follow coding best practices.
• Ensure timely delivery of quality software solutions.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 2-8 years of software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in Scala or Functional Programming.
• Experience writing Unit Tests and Acceptance Tests.
• Strong problem-solving, algorithm, and data structure skills.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Experience with Linux/Unix systems.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and messaging technologies.
• Experience with Kafka, Akka, or event-driven architectures is preferred.
• Exposure to REST APIs, Microservices, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for technology, learning, and software quality.
