Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior SAP Technical Architect with 10-15 years of hands-on SAP development experience to lead technical architecture, custom coding, system enhancements, and integration initiatives. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in SAP technical development, ABAP programming, debugging, performance optimization, and custom application development. This role is suited for a technical expert who can independently design, develop, review, and optimize SAP solutions while remaining actively involved in coding.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex SAP technical solutions, custom applications, enhancements, and extensions based on business requirements.
• Write, review, debug, and optimize ABAP code, including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms (RICEF/RICEFW), and custom objects.
• Work with modern SAP development technologies such as ABAP Objects, CDS Views, OData, SAP Fiori, and SAP Gateway, wherever applicable.
• Lead technical architecture and development for SAP integrations with internal applications, third-party systems, APIs, and middleware.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and improve system performance and code quality.
• Drive technical design, development standards, code reviews, documentation, and best practices across SAP development projects.
• Develop and maintain interfaces, data extraction programs, custom workflows, and automated technical processes.
• Support SAP upgrades, migrations, system conversions, and custom-code remediation, including S/4HANA readiness where applicable.
• Collaborate with functional teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions without limiting the role to functional consulting.
• Mentor SAP developers, guide technical problem-solving, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality code.
• Evaluate new SAP development capabilities and recommend suitable technical approaches for business needs.

Required Skills and Experience

• 1015 years of experience in SAP technical development and architecture, with substantial hands-on coding experience.
• Strong expertise in SAP ABAP and ABAP Objects.
• Experience in RICEF/RICEFW development, user exits, BAdIs, enhancement frameworks, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of SAP data models, tables, transports, development lifecycle, and system architecture.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA technical development and HANA optimization.
• Exposure to CDS Views, AMDP, OData services, SAP Fiori/UI5, APIs, and integration technologies.
• Experience designing technical solutions and reviewing code across complex SAP environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and technical leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Exposure to SAP BTP, RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model), clean-core principles, and modern SAP extension approaches.
• Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or other enterprise environments is an advantage.
