About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SAP SD Lead Consultant with strong functional expertise in SAP Sales and Distribution, SAP S/4HANA, end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes, and India localization.

The ideal candidate should have proven experience delivering end-to-end SAP implementation projects for domestic clients, with hands-on expertise in functional configuration, solution design, cross-module integration, and India-specific statutory compliance requirements, particularly GST and e-invoicing.

The role requires a customer-focused professional capable of independently leading SAP SD functional workstreams, collaborating with business stakeholders, and delivering scalable SAP solutions aligned with customer requirements.

Candidates must have experience working on domestic SAP implementation projects and be willing to work from customer premises, with flexibility to travel to client locations based on project needs.

Key Requirements

• SAP SD & SAP S/4HANA: Strong hands-on expertise in SAP SD configuration, implementation, and end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes.
• Core Functional Expertise: Sales order management, pricing, delivery, billing, credit management, pricing procedures, condition types, rebates, tax determination, copy controls, partner determination, and output management.
• India Localization: Proven hands-on experience implementing GST, e-invoicing, and India-specific statutory and taxation requirements.
• Implementation Experience: Minimum two end-to-end SAP implementation projects, with demonstrated experience in domestic (India-based) customer engagements.
• Client-Site Deployment: Willingness to work from customer premises and travel to domestic client locations as required by project and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

SAP SD Configuration & Functional Expertise:

• Lead the configuration, implementation, and optimization of SAP SD functionalities, including sales order processing, pricing, delivery, billing, and credit management.
• Configure pricing procedures, condition types, rebates, tax determination, copy controls, partner determination, and output management.
• Implement and support India localization requirements, including GST, e-invoicing, and applicable statutory compliance.
• Drive end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) process design, configuration, and continuous improvement.
• Configure and support third-party sales, returns management, and other relevant SAP SD business processes.

SAP S/4HANA Implementation & Integration:

• Lead SAP SD functional activities across end-to-end implementation projects, including greenfield implementations, rollouts, and migrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with SAP FI, MM, PP and other relevant modules.
• Work closely with technical teams on RICEF developments, enhancements, interfaces, IDocs and EDI integrations.
• Drive solution design, functional specifications, configuration, and integration testing.

Project Delivery & Client Stakeholder Management:

• Lead business requirement gathering, fit-gap analysis, solution design, blueprinting, and functional documentation.
• Manage SAP SD deliverables across project phases, ensuring quality, timely execution, and alignment with business objectives.
• Coordinate System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect resolution, and go-live readiness.
• Engage directly with customer stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
• Work collaboratively with customer teams at client locations and undertake project-related travel as required.

Production Support & Process Optimization:

• Provide post-go-live support, troubleshoot complex SAP SD issues, and ensure timely resolution.
• Identify opportunities for process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement.
• Support system enhancements, change requests, and performance optimization across O2C processes.

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

• Prepare functional specifications, configuration documents, test scenarios, and process documentation.
• Conduct end-user training, knowledge transfer sessions, and support documentation development.
• Ensure adherence to SAP implementation standards, project governance, and best practices.

Required Skills:

• 7 to 10 years of relevant SAP SD experience, with strong hands-on functional configuration and implementation expertise.
• Minimum two end-to-end SAP implementation projects, preferably involving SAP S/4HANA.
• Proven experience working on domestic SAP implementation projects for India-based customers.
• Strong expertise in Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes, pricing, billing, delivery, credit management, and sales order processing.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in India localization, including GST, e-invoicing, tax configuration, and statutory compliance.
• Hands-on experience in SAP SD integration with FI, MM, PP, and related modules.
• Experience in requirement gathering, solution design, functional specifications, testing, and deployment.
• Working knowledge of RICEF objects, IDoc processing, EDI interfaces, and basic ABAP debugging.
• Familiarity with SAP Fiori applications and SAP S/4HANA functionalities.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently lead SAP SD functional workstreams and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to work from customer premises and travel to domestic client locations based on project requirements.

Additional Skills & Preferred Experience

• Hands-on experience or functional knowledge of SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) and its integration with SAP SD.
• Experience configuring and supporting Advanced Returns Management (ARM) processes.
• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud or Private Cloud implementation projects.
• Knowledge of SAP Transportation Management (TM) and its integration with SD processes.
• Experience configuring and supporting third-party sales and related procurement integration.
• Experience working in Agile or hybrid project delivery environments.

Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• SAP SD or SAP S/4HANA certification will be an added advantage.
