SAP S/4HANA Functional Consultant Part-Time / On-Demand

Engagement

Part-time consulting support for a 16-week enterprise Data & Analytics implementation involving Microsoft Fabric and SAP S/4HANA.

The resource will support the NeoStats Data & AI delivery team with SAP functional expertise required to correctly interpret SAP business processes, identify relevant SAP data objects, validate business rules and KPIs, and support reconciliation between SAP and the target analytical platform.

This is not a full SAP implementation or configuration role. The engagement is focused specifically on SAP functional support for an enterprise data platform and reporting implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in focused discovery workshops covering SAP-driven business processes.
• Understand and validate SAP S/4HANA processes across:
• Procurement / Purchasing
• Inventory Management
• Stock Transport Orders
• Warehouse and Logistics
• Sales / Order-to-Cash where applicable
• Production / Supply Chain where applicable
• Finance integration relevant to analytical reporting.
• Identify appropriate SAP tables, CDS Views, entities and business objects required for agreed reporting and analytics use cases.
• Support source-to-target data mapping between SAP and Microsoft Fabric analytical models.
• Validate business rules, calculations, KPI definitions and SAP process semantics.
• Advise the data engineering team on relationships between relevant SAP master and transactional data.
• Support validation of SAP extraction approaches from a functional-data perspective.
• Participate in reconciliation of analytical outputs against SAP.
• Assist with investigation of discrepancies between SAP source values and downstream analytical results.
• Support Power BI KPI validation and business validation activities.
• Participate in selected User Acceptance Testing sessions and defect-resolution discussions.
• Support production-readiness validation for SAP-related datasets.
• Provide functional guidance and documentation to the NeoStats implementation team.

Required Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on SAP functional consulting experience.
• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA.
• Strong functional knowledge of SAP MM and Supply Chain processes.
• Good understanding of:
• Procurement and Purchasing
• Inventory Management
• Material Master
• Vendor Master
• Stock Transport Orders
• Consignment / Subcontracting
• Warehouse / Logistics
• Pricing and purchasing processes.
• Understanding of integration between:
• MMFI
• MM–SD
• MM–PP.
• Experience identifying SAP tables, CDS Views and business objects for reporting/data integration.
• Experience with source-to-target mapping and data reconciliation.
• Experience supporting enterprise reporting, BI, data warehouse or analytics initiatives.
• Ability to interact with business users and translate SAP process logic into data/reporting requirements.

Preferred Experience

• SAP S/4HANA 2023 exposure.
• Previous experience supporting SAP data integration with Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Databricks or another modern cloud data platform.
• Knowledge of SAP CDS Views and analytical extraction patterns.
• Experience supporting Power BI or enterprise data warehouse programs.
• Relevant SAP certification is desirable.

Engagement Model

• Remote / offshore from India.
• Part-time and requirement-driven rather than full-time allocation.
• Estimated 10–12 person-days across the 16-week project, with additional effort only following prior approval from NeoStats.
• Participation primarily during discovery, SAP data mapping, reconciliation and UAT phases.
• Resource should be available for short scheduled customer/NeoStats workshops when required.
• No minimum monthly commitment.
• Billing against approved actual effort / timesheet only.

Expected Duration

Approximately 16 weeks, with intermittent allocation based on project milestones.
