SAP FICO Consultant

Role & responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SAP FICO implementation, rollout, upgrade, migration, and support activities.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into effective SAP FI/CO solutions.
• Configure SAP Finance processes including GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting, Tax, and Financial Closing.
• Configure Controlling processes including Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing, and CO-PA.
• Design and implement S/4HANA Finance solutions, including Universal Journal and Business Partner integration.
• Conduct requirement-gathering workshops, business process mapping, gap analysis, and solution design.
• Work with MM, SD, PP, and other SAP teams to ensure seamless cross-module integration.
• Prepare functional specifications and coordinate with ABAP/integration teams for custom developments and interfaces.
• Lead data migration, reconciliation, testing, UAT, cutover, and go-live activities.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Support financial closing, reporting, tax, payment, and accounting processes.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and SAP standardization.
• Prepare configuration documentation, test scripts, process documents, and user training materials.
• Mentor junior consultants and provide functional guidance to project teams.
• Manage client communication, expectations, risks, dependencies, and project deliverables.

Preferred candidate profile

• 5 to 10 years of SAP FICO consulting experience, preferably including multiple end-to-end implementation or rollout projects.
• Strong hands-on expertise in SAP FI and CO with excellent understanding of accounting and controlling processes.
• Strong experience in S/4HANA Finance, preferably with Universal Journal, Business Partner, Fiori, and S/4HANA migration exposure.
• Deep knowledge of GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting, Tax, Cost Center, Profit Center, Internal Orders, Product Costing, and CO-PA.
• Experience integrating FICO with MM, SD, PP, and other SAP modules.
• Experience with data migration, Migration Cockpit, LSMW, interfaces, IDocs, testing, UAT, cutover, and go-live support.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting, month-end/year-end closing, statutory reporting, taxation, and management reporting.
• Experience working with SAP Activate methodology and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Ability to analyze complex business requirements and independently design scalable SAP solutions.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent client-facing communication, presentation, stakeholder-management, and negotiation skills.
• Experience mentoring junior consultants or leading functional teams.
• SAP FICO / S/4HANA Finance certification is preferred.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Business, Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline; CA/CMA/MBA Finance is an advantage.
• Strong interest in emerging SAP capabilities including SAP BTP, SAP Analytics Cloud, Central Finance, automation, and AI-enabled finance processes.
